Biographical Information[edit]
Sean Thompson pitched in the minors then became a college coach.
Thompson was taken by the Texas Rangers in the 24th round of the 2000 amateur draft out of El Camino College. Moving on to the University of California, Santa Barbara, he was picked by the Chicago White Sox in the 35th round of the 2003 amateur draft. The lefty was with the Great Falls White Sox (1-1, 5.90 in 10 G) and Bristol White Sox (0-1, 3.24, 21 K in 16 2/3 IP) that summer. In 2004, he was 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in eight games for Great Falls. Moving to the independent leagues, he had a 3-0, 6.86 record for the San Diego Surf Dawgs in 12 games in 2005.
He was assistant coach at Marymount California University in 2019 then was head coach in 2020-2021.
