Biographical Information[edit]

Shane Turner was selected by the New York Yankees in the sixth round of the 1985 amateur draft out of Cal State Fullerton, where he played in the College World Series in 1982 and 1984. He played professionally for 11 years as an infielder in the minor leagues while seeing Major League service with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Baltimore Orioles and the Seattle Mariners, finishing with a lifetime .236 batting average over a 56-game span from 1988 to 1992.

He was the San Francisco Giants Roving Hitting Instructor in 2002.
