Stephen Landazuri has pitched as high as AAA.

Taken by the Seattle Mariners in the 22nd round of the 2010 amateur draft (the scout was John Ramey, he was 1-2 with a 3.60 ERA for the AZL Mariners that summer. He was 5-4 with a 4.35 ERA and struck out 72 in 72 1/3 IP for the 2011 Everett AquaSox. He tied for 7th in the Northwest League in wins and was third in strikeouts (behind Vicente Campos and Yao-Lin Wang). He split 2012 between the Clinton Lumber Kings (3-2, Sv, 3.06) and AZL mariners (1 R in 6 IP) while battling tendonitis issues.

In 2013, he was 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 3 games for Clinton and 6-7 with a 4.63 ERA for the High Desert Mavericks. His 129 whiffs were third in the Mariners chain, behind only Taijuan Walker and James Paxton. He was 6-5 with a 4.33 ERA for the 2014 Jackson Generals while missing about a month and a half with a muscle strain. He was 1-5 with a 6.95 ERA for the Surprise Saguaros, leading the Arizona Fall League in losses. In 2015, he pitched for the Generals (2-6, 4.68) and Tacoma Rainiers (1-4, 8.70). He led the Seattle chain with 96 runs allowed, 13 ahead of Lukas Schiraldi. He also led with 16 hit batsmen, three ahead of Rohn Pierce. In the winter, he was 4-1 with a 3.43 ERA for the Águilas de Mexicali.

Pitching for the Mexican national team in the 2016 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he got their second start, against Nicaragua. He shut out Nicaragua for four innings, allowing only one hit (to Jairo Beras) and no walks though he hit three while fanning four; by the time Giovanny Gallegos relieved, Mexico led 9-0. They won their qualifiers to get into the 2017 World Baseball Classic. The rest of his summer was a lot worse. With Jackson, he was torched for eight runs on seven walks, three hit batsmen and three hits in 2 2/3 IP. He also pitched for the Tigres de Quintana Roo, allowing a hit, two walks and three runs while retiring no one.
