Biographical Information[edit]

Sun Daly played 13 games for the 1892 Baltimore Orioles, mostly in left field, at the end of the 1892 season, in a year when the Orioles lost 101 games. Harry Stovey was the regular left fielder that year. John McGraw was a 19-year-old teammate.

There were two other players named "Daly" in the National League that year, but neither is listed as a relative of Sun Daly.

His baseball card from the late 1880's with Minneapolis is here: www.rainfall.com/posters/baseballcards/17047.htm

He made one sportswriter's "All Time Meteorological Team", along with Curt Flood, Tim Raines, J.T. Snow, and others.

He is one of only 36 players (as of 2007) born in Vermont, and one of only two born in Rutland, VT, with the other being Harry Hulihan.
