Biographical Information[edit]
The brother of catcher Rube Walker, Verlon Walker was a minor league catcher from 1948 to 1959, missing 1951-1952 due to military service. He was a minor league manager from 1957 to 1960, and a Chicago Cubs coach from 1961 to 1970.
To confuse matters, he was also sometimes called "Rube", like his brother.
