Biographical Information[edit]

Wen-Ming Huang played for the Taiwanese national team and in both the CPBL and Taiwan Major League.

Huang was a third-string catcher in the 1991 Intercontinental Cup. He was retired by South Korea's Hong-jip Kim his first time up. His first hit was off France's Vincent Lhoste. He had a pinch-hit single off Epifanio Pérez in the 13-inning Bronze Medal Game loss to Nicaragua. He finished the event 3-for-7 with a double, two runs and a RBI, backing up Chi-Hsin Chen and Kun-Hong Pai at catcher and Cheng-Hsien Chang at DH. He had eight putouts, an assist and no errors and no one tried to steal against him. [1] He was on the Jungo Bears in the 1993 CPBL, their first season. He hit .248/.313/.347 in 52 games, backing up Pai. He threw out 4 of 8 who tried to steal, handling 41 chances error-free (he was used mostly as a DH or PH, apparently, only getting ten games in the field). He was in the TML in 1997 and 1998 with the Chianan Luka. [2]

He later coached at the high school and college levels. [3]
