Yu-Kang Fu was the CPBL Rookie of the Year in 2012.
Fu was picked by the Uni-President Lions in the 6th round of the 2010 CPBL draft. In 2011, he had a 2.52 ERA in the Taiwanese minors, which he led with 7 saves and won the ERA title. He made it to the CPBL in 2012 and went 4-1 with a 1.20 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 48 games pitched while notching 12 holds. For his stellar work, he was named the league's Rookie of the Year. Fu also broke Chun-Yang Tsao's rookie record as he didn't allow a run in 28 consecutive games. He was selected into the 2012 CPBL All-Star Game, and he collected a hold with a shutout inning. In the 2012 Taiwan Series, he allowed 2 runs in a inning in Game 1, then gave up a run in 1/3 of a inning in Game 2. The Lions were beaten by the Lamigo Monkeys in 5 games.
The Tainan native then joined the Taiwan national team for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He pitched one shutout inning against the Philippines with a strikeout, and helped Taiwan advance to the 2013 World Baseball Classic. He then pitched for Taiwan in the 2012 Asian Championship, pitching a shutout inning to helped Taiwan win Silver. Fu attended the 2013 CPBL All-Star Game and he pitched a shutout inning. He ended up 1-0 with a 1.67 ERA in 58 games, and also notched 9 holds. Fu ranked 4th in appearances (9 behind Hiroki Sanada) and 8th in holds (23 behind Sanada). In the 2013 Taiwan Series, he pitched one inning in Game 2 to get the win, and collected another win in Game 3 by two shutout innings. His Lions swept the EDA Rhinos, and he won his first Taiwan Series title.
Fu was selected into the 2014 CPBL All-Star Game, and he recorded a hold with a shutout inning. He notched a career-high 22 holds in 2014, but his ERA rose to 4.09 in 56 games. Fu ranked 3rd in appearances (9 behind Yu-Hsun Chen) and 2nd in holds (8 behind Chen). He bounced back soon, having a 2.31 ERA in 34 games in 2015, then he recorded a 2.93 ERA in 31 appearances in 2016. However, Fu struggled in 2017, and his ERA rose to 8.55 in 28 games. He had a 5.03 ERA in 37 games in 2018, then his ERA was 7.39 in 29 games in 2019.
The veteran reliever finally came back in 2020, and he pitched 43 games with a 4.24 ERA. He pitched 2 shutout innings in the 2020 Taiwan Series, and notched a hold in Game 3. The Lions beat the CTBC Brothers in 7 games. Fu suffered from injuries in 2021, so he only pitched 2 games. His ERA was 6.94 in 12 games in 2022, and he only had 5 appearances in 2023.
He has a standard four-pitch repertoire, with his fastball peaking at 93 mph.
