Biographical Information[edit]
Yunqi Song was an outfielder for the Beijing Tigers. He was listed on the Chinese national team for the 2017 Asian Championship but they dropped out shortly before the event. He then played for the Texas AirHogs for most of 2018, hitting .171/.189/.217 and fielding .987 in the outfield (primarily in center). He left the team with many of his teammates to play for China in the 2018 Asian Games. He batted .368/.429/.579 while playing error-free defense, starting in center (8 PO, 1 A). He had 6 runs in 6 games to tie Chen Chen for the team lead. He was a triple shy of a cycle against Pakistan, going deep off Muhammad Amjad Aslam. He was 0 for 3 in the Bronze Medal Game loss to Taiwan.
