Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Zeke Spruill made his major league debut in 2013.

Selected by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 2008 amateur draft, Spruill was signed by scout Brian Bridges. He made his pro debut that summer with the GCL Braves, going 7-0 with a 2.93 ERA in 10 games, while leading the Gulf Coast League in wins. Prior to the 2013 season, he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the seven-player deal that brought Justin Upton to Atlanta.

He started the 2013 season with the AA Mobile Bay Bears, going 0-3, but with a 1.42 ERA in 5 starts. He was promoted to the AAA Reno Aces in early May and went 3-3, 4.06 in 9 starts before getting the call to the Show in late June. In his major league debut on June 21st, he pitched one inning in relief against the Cincinnati Reds, giving up a hit and striking out one in an 11-5 win by the Diamondbacks.
